Getting settled.
Access
Your custom Pinecrest access code will be sent approximately 24–48 hours before arrival. Please check your email or text messages before heading to the coast.
To enter, tap the keypad, enter your code, and press the check mark. When leaving, lock only the electronic deadbolt. There is no need to touch the lower lock.
Parking
Each unit may have up to three vehicles. The six parking spaces are shared, so just find an open spot when you arrive.
Please keep the areas directly in front of the garages and the gated areas at Unit 1 clear.

Pinecrest has a commercial-grade internet network designed for fast, reliable coverage throughout the home.
The WiFi password is included in your welcome message. Each bedroom also has its own smart TV.
Hulu with Live TV is provided for guests. Please don't log out of Hulu during your stay. You're welcome to sign into your own streaming services as needed.
Bike Storage
A shared bike storage area is located next to the garages, with room for approximately six bikes.
We don't provide locks, but eye bolts are secured into the concrete walls if you'd like to use your own lock.
As with anywhere, it's always a good idea to secure bikes and valuables rather than leaving them unattended.
Soak awhile.
Watch the ocean, listen to the waves, and stay long enough to see the stars come out.
The hot tub key is located under the cabinet nearest the dining table. Please keep the lid locked whenever the tub isn't in use.
Dining in?
Well stocked for staying in, whether it's a quick breakfast, a family dinner, or anything in between.
You'll find cookware, dishes, utensils, mixing bowls, measuring cups, baking pans, Instant Pot, blender, gadgets and most of the everyday tools you'd expect.
However you take your morning coffee, we've got the brewing covered. Bring your favorite for the drip brewer, French press, Moka pot, or Keurig style pod brewer. Prefer someone else to make it? Neskowin Provisions and its full espresso bar are just a block away.
Heating + Cooling.
Ecobee WiFi thermostats control the heat throughout the home.
Pinecrest doesn't have air conditioning. That's rarely needed at the coast. Opening the ocean-side windows usually cools the house quickly, and fans are also provided.
If you're leaving for an extended period or checking out, please lower the thermostat to help conserve energy.
Warm up and get cozy.
If you love sitting by the fire with a good book while listening to waves crash, you are in luck. Both units have two gas fireplaces.
The living room fireplace uses a remote located in the cabinet next to the fireplace. The primary bedroom fireplace uses a one-hour wall timer.
Please leave the remotes where you found them so they're ready for the next guest.
Trash Talk.
Shared garbage bins are in the gated area closest to the street on the south side of the parking lot.
Bottles and cans can go in the designated recycling bin. Unfortunately, mixed recycling pickup isn't available in Neskowin, but recycling drop-off locations are available in Pacific City and Lincoln City.
If you're here on a Wednesday, we'd appreciate you taking any household trash down to the shared garbage bins so we can have it hauled away and keep everything from getting too full.
Loads of Fun.
An extra-capacity washer and dryer are located upstairs in the hallway closet. Laundry pods and fabric softener are provided.
Please shake sand from towels before putting them in the washer or dryer, and don't overload either machine.
Two smaller loads are much easier on the machines than one oversized load.
Leave the sand.
Take the memories.
Checkout is at 10:00 AM. There is not much to do before you leave, but these few things help us get Pinecrest ready for the next guests.
Towels
Gather used towels and place them in the washing machine. Please do not overload the machine.
Beds
No need to strip the beds. We will take care of the linens after you leave.
Dishes
If you have time, load the dishwasher and start a cycle before you go.
Trash
Please take household trash to the shared garbage bins near the street.
Lights + Heat
Turn off lights and TVs and lower the thermostat before leaving.
Hot Tub
Make sure the hot tub cover is securely in place and locked, then return the key to its usual spot.
Lock Up
Lock all exterior doors when you leave.

The Village
Outside Your Door.
Small, quiet, and easy to explore. Walk the beach to Proposal Rock, find the Ghost Forest when the tide is out, ride bikes through the village, or wander over to see what's happening around town.
In Neskowin, some of the best days don't require getting in the car.
Proposal Rock
Neskowin's unmistakable landmark is just down the beach.
Proposal Rock rises just offshore near the mouth of Neskowin Creek. Walk toward it from Pinecrest, watch the tide move around it, or simply find a spot on the sand and let the view do the work.
Head down the private beach stairs and turn toward Proposal Rock. No car required.
The Ghost Forest
One of the Oregon Coast's strangest landscapes appears when the ocean pulls back.
Ancient Sitka spruce stumps emerge from the sand near Proposal Rock at lower tides. Walk slowly, explore around the creek, and remember that what you see can look completely different a few hours later.
Lower tides generally give you the best chance to explore the Ghost Forest and more of the beach around Proposal Rock.
Beach first.
Neskowin Beach is the village's backyard. Walk, explore the creek, look for the Ghost Forest, watch the sunset, or simply stay close to Pinecrest and let the day unfold.
Ride around.
Neskowin is best explored slowly.
Cruise through the village, head toward the golf course, stop for coffee or ice cream, and leave the car parked for a while. It's small enough that a bike feels like exactly the right speed.
Close enough to wander.
Coffee, food, ice cream, golf, and a few of the things that give Neskowin its small village personality are all nearby.
Neskowin Provisions
Groceries, bakery items, prepared food, wine, picnic supplies, and a full espresso bar, all an easy walk from Pinecrest.
Hawk Creek Café
A casual village stop close to Pinecrest when dinner out sounds better than cooking.
Village Scoop
Ice cream and a very good excuse for one more walk through the village.
Neskowin Beach Golf Course
A relaxed historic course tucked into the village and surrounded by coastal hills and forest. It also becomes a gathering place for seasonal events throughout the year.

Neskowin changes with the season. Some weekends are quiet. Others come with markets, movies, games, art, and a little more activity around the village.
Farmers Market
Saturday mornings in season bring local food, produce, art, and other finds to the village.
Movies on the Course
On select summer evenings, the golf course turns into an outdoor movie night.
Pétanque
A relaxed village game in the bocce family and another easy way to spend an unhurried afternoon.
Summer Bingo
A casual seasonal tradition held around the golf course when the summer calendar is active.
Local Art
Stop into the Hawk Creek Gallery to see work from local artists.
Just Wander
Walk the village, follow the beach, ride the bikes, and see where you end up. Neskowin rewards having no real plan.
A Little Farther
Down the Coast.
Some of the best parts of the Oregon Coast are just beyond Neskowin. Hike a headland, find a hidden beach, chase a waterfall, paddle a lake, ride through the forest or spend an afternoon in the dunes.
You do not have to go far to find something completely different.
Cascade Head
Forest, open headland and some of the best views on the central coast.
Cascade Head rises just south of Neskowin. The trail climbs through coastal forest before opening onto grasslands above the Salmon River estuary and Pacific Ocean.
Trail access can change seasonally. Check current trail conditions and access before leaving Pinecrest.
Winema Beach
One of the quieter beach accesses on this stretch of coast. Cliffs, rock formations and very little development make it feel surprisingly removed for somewhere only a few minutes away.
God's Thumb
A dramatic grass covered headland above Lincoln City. The route climbs through forest and meadow before reaching the unmistakable Thumb.
Roads End
+ Hidden Cove
A quieter beach with something hidden around the corner.
Roads End sits at the north end of Lincoln City beneath the headland. Walk north for tidepools, offshore rocks and, when the tide allows, a hidden cove tucked beyond Roads End Point.
Check the tide before attempting to reach the hidden cove. An incoming tide can cut off the route back around the point. A day use parking permit is required at Roads End.
Tunnel Beach
The walk through the rock is half the fun.
Tunnel Beach is one of those places that feels more discovered than visited. Walk through the passage in the rock and emerge onto another stretch of the Oregon Coast.
Drift Creek Falls
A forest hike leading to a suspension bridge high above Drift Creek and a waterfall below.
Cape Kiwanda
Sandstone cliffs, the Great Dune and one of the most recognizable stretches of the Oregon Coast. Combine it with lunch or time exploring Pacific City.
Ride. Paddle.
Get a Little Dirty.
The coast is not just for looking at. Within an easy drive you can ride forest singletrack, explore the dunes or trade the Pacific for calmer water.
Buzzard Butte
Purpose built singletrack in the Coast Range.
Buzzard Butte is a mountain bike trail network in the coastal forest near Pacific City. Expect singletrack, berms and trails for different ability levels.
Sand Lake
Bring the ATV, side by side or dirt bike.
Sand Lake Recreation Area combines dunes, forest and coastline with designated off highway vehicle riding areas, staging areas and camping.
Check current permits, safety requirements and riding conditions.
Devil's Lake
Trade the Pacific for calmer water. Kayak, stand up paddleboard, fish, boat or spend an afternoon by the lake.
More Than
Beaches.
The coast has plenty to do when the weather turns, the kids need a change of pace or you simply want something different. These three destinations are worth building an outing around, with plenty of smaller stops nearby.
Oregon Coast Aquarium
One of the best all-weather destinations on the Oregon Coast.
Explore sharks, sea otters, puffins, tidepool life and the immersive Passages of the Deep tunnels. It is an easy centerpiece for a full Newport day and especially good with kids.
Sea Lion Caves
Take an elevator down into a massive natural sea cave used by wild Steller sea lions.
It is farther from Pinecrest than most places in this guide, but the cave, wildlife and ocean setting make it one of the coast's most unusual stops. The sea lions are wild, so what you see can vary by season.
Tillamook Creamery
Cheese, ice cream and a surprisingly fun look behind the scenes.
Take the free self-guided visitor experience, watch cheesemaking and packaging, explore the exhibits and finish with lunch, cheese samples or ice cream. It is an easy anchor for a northbound coast day.

Watch glass artists at work or reserve a hands-on experience to make your own float, bowl, heart or other glass piece.
Prehistoric
Fossils, minerals, meteorites, an animatronic T. rex and a geode-breaking machine make this much more fun than a typical rock shop.
Chinook Winds
Oceanfront casino gaming, restaurants, live entertainment and additional resort activities at the north end of Lincoln City.
Historic Newport Bayfront
A working waterfront with fishing boats, resident sea lions, shops, galleries, restaurants and classic coastal attractions.
Hatfield Marine Science Center
Oregon State University's marine research center, with public-facing exhibits and a closer look at the science behind the Oregon Coast.
Newport Discovery Zoo
A small rescue-focused animal attraction with more intimate animal viewing than you would find at a traditional large zoo.

Fantastic wood-fired pizza, fresh seafood and scratch-made dishes, with great beer, cocktails and a genuinely welcoming staff. Stop in for a meal, or just walk down from Pinecrest for a drink after a day at the beach.
Neskowin Provisions
Coffee in the morning, pastries, deli food, prepared meals, wine, snacks and the things you forgot to bring. Part market, part café and extremely useful when you are staying in Neskowin.
Village Scoop
A walk or bike ride for ice cream is practically a Neskowin beach day tradition, for kids and grown ups alike. Grab a treat, find a picnic table and enjoy a little more of the day together.

A laid back Pacific City locals’ pub with cold drinks, hearty pub food and plenty of personality. Nothing fancy, just a genuinely local spot with seriously good fresh fish & chips.
Otis Café
A longtime local favorite for scratch made breakfasts, house baked breads and classic comfort food. Go hungry and don’t skip the German potatoes.
Grateful Bread
A Pacific City institution serving generous breakfasts alongside house baked breads and homemade jams. A beloved local staple that’s been around for decades.

A newer full grocery store with everyday staples, Pacific Northwest products, butcher counter, bakery, deli, sushi, café and coffee.
Grocery Outlet
Great for stocking up without spending a fortune. Expect produce, staples, organic items, wine, cheese and constantly changing discounted inventory.
Safeway
The familiar supermarket option with full grocery, bakery, deli and pharmacy. Pickup and grocery delivery are also available.
Trillium Natural Foods
Natural foods, organic produce, bulk ingredients and specialty items that can be harder to find at the larger supermarkets.

A few places that are worth more than simply stopping because you need something.
The Marketplace at Salishan
Independent shops, art, outdoor gear and gifts, with coffee, food and drinks mixed in. An easy place to browse for a while rather than visit just one store.
Mossy Creek Pottery
Handmade pottery from Northwest ceramic artists, displayed in a century old farmhouse tucked among the trees. One of the better places for something that actually feels connected to the coast.
Robert's Bookshop
Not a polished little beach bookstore, and that is part of the appeal. More than 200,000 used and antique books, plus comics, music and unexpected finds in nearly every corner.
Lincoln City Glass Center
Browse locally made glass, watch artists at work or make your own piece. It is part gallery, part shopping stop and part Oregon Coast experience.
Pacific City Shops
A good mix of smaller shops for clothing, gifts and home goods. Best combined with lunch, coffee or time at Cape Kiwanda rather than as a shopping trip on its own.
Lincoln City Outlets
Not exactly a hidden coastal discovery, but useful enough that it belongs here. A good rainy day option with familiar brands and Oregon's lack of sales tax.
Neskowin Farmers Market
One of the best ways to spend a summer Saturday morning without leaving Neskowin.
Browse produce, flowers, mushrooms, baked and prepared foods, pantry finds and goods from farmers and makers around the region.
Pick up something for dinner or just wander through before coffee and a walk on the beach.

Vintage Voyage.
Lincoln City has enough vintage stores, antique malls and wonderfully strange collections to turn browsing into an afternoon of its own.

Good vintage without all the digging.
More curated vintage shop than traditional antique mall. Better Days focuses on clothing and accessories from the 80s, 90s and Y2K, with plenty worth browsing.

Pinecrest and Neskowin are peaceful places to spend a few days, but the Oregon Coast is still wild by nature. Weather, tides and ocean conditions can change quickly, sometimes without much warning. Give Mother Ocean the respect she deserves, know a few basics before you head out, and enjoy everything the coast has to offer.

A Few Things
to Know at Pinecrest.
Most of this is common sense. These are the things especially worth keeping in mind while you are here.
Relax Safely.
Please keep glass containers out of and away from the hot tub. Children must be supervised at all times, and the hot tub should never be used while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Use the Controls Provided.
Both units have two gas fireplaces. The living room fireplace is controlled by the remote stored near the fireplace. The primary bedroom fireplace uses the wall timer and runs for one hour.
Exterior Monitoring.
Pinecrest has security cameras covering the front parking area and backyard. There are no cameras inside the home.
Indoor noise monitors measure sound levels only. They do not record conversations.
Lock Up.
Please lock exterior doors whenever you leave Pinecrest. The electronic deadbolt locks by touching the lock icon on the keypad.
Beautiful.
Powerful.
Unpredictable.
The ocean may look calm one minute and behave very differently the next. A few simple habits matter.
Never Turn Your Back on the Ocean.
Sneaker waves can appear without warning and surge much farther up the beach than expected. Always face the water and stay alert.
Be Cautious Around Logs.
Driftwood may look harmless, but waves can move very large logs with tremendous force. Give logs near the water plenty of space.
The Water Is Cold.
Oregon Coast water is typically around 55°F / 13°C. Cold water can quickly cause swimming difficulty and hypothermia.
Stay Clear of Cliffs and Rocks.
Coastal bluffs and rock faces can collapse without warning. Stay on marked trails and avoid climbing over barriers.
If the Ground Shakes,
Move Inland.
Neskowin is within a tsunami evacuation zone. Tsunami warnings are rare, but knowing what to do matters.
Drop. Cover. Hold On.
Protect yourself until the shaking stops.
Move Immediately Inland or to Higher Ground.
Do not wait for an official warning. If you do not hear one, that does not mean you should stay.
Follow “Beat the Wave” Signs.
Evacuation maps are posted near the front door. Follow the designated pedestrian routes to higher ground. Look for blue assembly area signs and “Leaving Hazard Zone” markers.
There is no local emergency broadcast system.
In an earthquake, do not wait for a siren or announcement. Use the natural warning and evacuate.

A beach fire can be one of the best parts of an evening in Neskowin. Keep it small, stay with it and leave the beach exactly as you found it.
Use Open Sand.
Build fires only on open sand and at least 25 feet from vegetation, driftwood piles, beach access paths and wooden structures.
Keep It Small.
Maximum fire size is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet. An adult should attend the fire at all times.
Burn Only Natural Wood.
Use untreated natural wood or paper used to start the fire. Never burn trash or treated materials and never use gasoline or other petroleum products to start a fire.
Put It Out With Water.
Extinguish the fire completely before leaving. Do not bury hot coals with sand. Buried coals can remain dangerously hot for days.
Restrictions Can Change.
Fire restrictions may change with weather and wildfire conditions. Check current restrictions before starting a beach fire.
